Intermediate carpal bone
Os carpi intermedium
The middle bone of the proximal carpal row, between the radial and ulnar carpal bones. It is a separate bone in the pig, where the carnivores fuse it to the radial.
About the intermediate carpal bone of the pig
Intermediate carpal bone is a bone of the front leg (thoracic limb), one on each side of the body. Its name in the Nomina Anatomica Veterinaria is Os carpi intermedium. You can turn it above, see it in place in the front leg of the pig, and open it inside the whole animal in Vetomica.
Measured on the specimen
What the intermediate carpal bone is in contact with in the model itself, with the share of the other structure’s surface it covers. A contact is not always a joint: bones that simply lie against one another are in this list too.
Measured on the left side.
