Normal abdomen (3 of 3)

What to look for
- Crisp serosal detail: the organs' edges stand out against the fat
- Colon diameter (b) about the length of the fifth lumbar vertebra (a)
- Lines drawn by the authors: a = L5 length, b = widest colon
Read the normal first
Learn the size of the heart, the lung fields and the outline of the diaphragm on this film, then open a finding from the list and slide between the two.

Read the film, then see the anatomy in 3D.
Vetomica puts every abdomen structure on this x-ray in a complete 3D cat you can peel, cut and X-ray from any angle, with every imaging finding beside its normal and practice at reading films.
The 3D animals are free for 7 days, no card. Imaging findings are Pro; every normal study stays free.
